This is an Atteca Old Vines 2007. It is made from Granacha grapes from vines that were planted in the last decades of the nineteenth century. Deep rich blackberry flavors persist on a long supple finish and are highlighted by the bright and shimmering claret color. This wine has a bright bold taste that is excellent with bright bold flavored food or on its own.
We decided to pair this wine with a bold red curry noodle dish. We simmered coconut milk with red curry paste and added some chicken, baby bok choy, and baby brocolli. We added a bit of brown sugar and soy sauce to bring out the flavors and toped it all on some brown rice pasta. YUM!
