Mmmmmm.....doesn't that look good? What goes better with homemade pie than homemade ice cream? NOTHING! This is just plain vanilla and it's super easy to make.
But you need one of these...and ice cream maker. Cuisinart makes a good one and it's pretty cheap! You can make all kinds of ice cream with this gadget from plain and simple vanilla to complicated candied peanut caramel swirl fudge crunch! Okay I totally made that one up but I'm sure you can make it!
For vanilla, you start with a cup of milk, whole milk is best.
Add in 3/4 cup of sugar.
Then using a whisk mix the two together until the sugar is dissolved.
Then comes the good part, 2 whole cups of whipping cream, the full fat kind! Mmmmm!
Add 2-3 tsps of vanilla, depending on how vanilla-y you want your ice cream to taste. And don't forget to notice that beautiful ring on my friend Kate's finger.
Here...let me give you a closer look!
Whisk together until nice and frothy.
Turn on your ice cream maker and pour the goodness in through the top.
Let it swirl around for about half an hour...
Until it looks like this. Then enjoy with your favorite piece of pie! But in moderation of course! :)
