Christmas in Union Square

P1030389_web One of my favorite things about San Francisco is Christmas in Union Square. This is a photo taken from the top of Macy’s looking down at union square. There is always a huge tree with lots of sparkling lights and a big red star on top. This year I was extra excited to see that they brought back the ice skating rink! Growing up there was always and outdoor ice skating rink in union square during Christmas but when they remodeled union square they took it away. This year, they brought it back! Yay!

I love watching all the happy people ice skating in the brisk night…P1030375-2_weband watching all the bright lights sparkle on the huge tree…

and staring at all the wreaths in every single window of the Macy’s building.

But my favorite part are the Macy’s Holiday windows! The Macy’s in Union square is famous for there holiday windows! Every year thousands of people gather around to see the glorious decorations.  For the last few years the Macy’s Holiday windows have been sponsored by the SPCA and have been decorated with cute little puppies and kitties that are up for adoption. Above is a picture of one of those window. I look forward to this part every single year!

Ahhh….the holidays. What do you look forward to during this time of year?
